The Security Industry Authority (SIA) is the national organisation responsible for regulating the private security industry and reporting directly to the Home Secretary. The Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) standard encompasses all aspects of a security provider’s operation. It takes a holistic view of how well an organisation is managed and an approved organisation must demonstrate to an independent assessor, on an annual basis, that it has met defined standards.

The SIA list a number of reasons why you should use an SIA Approved Contractor. SIA approved contractors are:

  • Part of the extended Police family
  • Offer continuity of service
  • Deliver best practice and continuity of quality
  • Have a clear customer focus and increased flexibility
  • Focus on leadership and innovation

Scheme accreditation is voluntary with a select membership of just 772* out of an estimated 4,000 security companies. We're proud to confirm KeyPlus retains ACS membership year on year with scores that rank in the top 5% of the entire UK security industry.
