Look for a company who are approved by the Security Industry Authority (SIA). The SIA is a national organisation who are responsible for regulating the private security industry. Reporting to the Home Secretary, they are an independent body with two main duties; the compulsory licensing of individuals undertaking certain activities within the private security sector and the management of their Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS).
